2024 CRESCENDO

The Challenge

2024 Crescendo Game Animation

This year’s CRESCENDO game has been great! Team 4201, the Vitruvian Bots, has once again done so much, and we are ecstatic to share!

We went to the Los Angeles Regional, hosted at our home school of DVS! We faced against 44 great teams, 1 of which was international! We placed 6th overall with a record of 8-2-0. We are proud to have earned the Innovation in Controls Award for our great scouting and robot simulation!

Our Impact team also presented to the judges about our team’s vision and impact throughout our history! We are looking forward to continuing our mission of increasing the STEAM opportunities in our community by creating the future innovators and leaders that will solve the world’s tough problems.

The Robot

Name: Forte

Weight: 115 lbs

Size: 27.5”H x 26”W x 27.5”L

Strategy:
Our strategy this year was to build a robot that could consistently cycle from intaking notes from the ground to shooting into the speaker. We also, however, designed our robot to take advantage of all other scoring locations, including the amp and trap.

Port Hueneme Regional

Our first competition of the season was the Port Hueneme Regional! We competed against 50 teams including 3 international teams! The 3-day event was full of exciting matches, and our team was able to rank 4th with a record of 7-2-0. Our team showed consistent respect and courtesy, and we are proud to have earned the Gracious Professionalism Award! Best of all, our amazing Data Science Lead Natalie Wallis was awarded the Dean’s List Finalist Award!

Los Angeles Regional

The Los Angeles Regional competition was held at the Da Vinci Schools gym yet again! We hosted 44 teams, including an international team from Taipei! Our robot was ranked 6th and had a record of 8-2-0. We ended up as the captain of alliance #5, where we competed in the playoffs with our alliance partners Team 1515 Mortorq and Team 599 The Robodox!

For the first time ever in our team’s history, we also won the Innovation in Controls award for our excellent scouting system and comprehensive robot simulation!

We’ll see you all next year!
